We joined the Juneteenth Day Party, hosted by Motherboard One, the new West Oakland clubhouse and creative studio founded by
father-and-son duo Refa One and Senay Akebu-Lan–in partnership with Red, Bike and Green, the Black cycling collective dedicated to advancing the physical and environmental well-being within the Black community. 

We gave party-goers a first look at The BLAC Map of Oakland, a digital, interactive guide that spotlights all of the cultural and creative spaces stewarded by our BLACspace members and Vision Keepers.

Shout-out to our designer Openi for their creative support. You did your big one! Let me tell you, printing out an 82” x 85” version of the map to go alongside the exterior walls at Motherboard was a journey, but we did it, and it was fabulous. 

Our members steward remarkable cultural spaces that center a sense of belonging for the arts, culture, and creative communities. The BLAC Map is our way of celebrating the spaces and people in our ecosystem while helping you connect to them easily.
