The BLACumentary
The BLACumentary is a poetic, vérité-style short documentary that spotlights the vision keepers of BLACspace Cooperative. From reclaiming space to revitalizing legacy, this documentary follows the heartbeat of the movement: Carolyn Johnson of Black Cultural Zone, Noni Sessions of East Bay Permanent Real Estate Cooperative, Dr. Ayodele Nzinga of BAMBD CDC, and Anyka Howard of The Betti Ono Foundation, Zakiya Harris of BLACspace Cooperative and Anna Shneiderman of BLACspace Cooperative - who are building Black futures by design. This is a story about cultural permanence and a testament to what’s possible when Black arts, culture, and cooperation lead the way. Filmed by Town Futurist. Executive Produced by BLACspace Cooperative.
